Jaguars had been having a winless run in the last few matches. But the last match they played against Waratahs which was held in Buenos Aires led to a smashing victory for them. Though the Waratahs were able to put in tries in their last two matches but they could not make a comeback when they played against the Jaguars in the Buenos Aires stadium. This has been the first loss they have had this season.
The end result of the game showed a score of 38-28. The scoreboard was flattering for the Waratahs initially as they scored two tries in the same time when the Argentinian team was trying to get in a bonus point. Daryl Gibson’s side, however, soon returned to old mistakes that crippled their performance in 2017. They had conceded to four tries which was within the first 20 minutes after the game started. They even pitched in a try in the first 16 seconds. The visitors did five tries in total in the first half that led to a score of 33-7 before the main break. The Waratahs were able to put in pressure only when the final seconds remained of the match. This kind of performance must have left Gibson with a lot to say to his team members. On the other hand, Mario Ledesma gained his first as coach of the Jaguares team. Mario Ledesma is considered a scrum guru who has returned to Argentina after spending three years with the Australian rugby team.
